Religiosity
I have just seen the Dalai Lama for the second time, and I went to services today for temple, and am trying to understand why my moderate faith in God has led me to this state so shrouded by religious views from all angles. None of which, I completely understand. At this point college is my religion, and I work dutifully (*cough*) to break the cold, hard shells, and the layers of film over the eyes of college admissions officers, in effort for them to see the magic that is me! Of course selling this Mystical Me would probably be a little easier if I too, were so sure of my aptitude. Then again maybe they're looking for a self-deprecating humorist whose biggest joke is so obviously on herself. Hello, brass ring, it's Samantha Goldstein!

Artist In LA
Being a young artist in LA has so many perks and drawbacks.
Pro: There are zany people everywhere--quirky people are happening all over and shows are being played in dives that you wouldn't even know existed except for small doors and assurances from the car gps that you are actually in the right place.
Con: There is too much. It attacks your senses and makes you reach for more. It makes you want all of the world to hold and it makes you expect it--that instant lust for life--those things so easily caught, and those that aren't, the people who make you wait, painstakingly for what you want. The pace is hard to keep up with, and forced upon people to want it, to want the quick, moving life.
